Prior to arriving at UCSF, please complete the Participant COVID Screener
General Parking Information
Parking is limited at UCSF, and as such we recommend taking public transportation when possible. However, if you do drive, in order to have your parking validated, you must park in the UCSF Parking Garage on 500 Parnassus (see map). Metered street parking is rarely available nearby. We do not reimburse metered street parking, so please park at the UCSF Parking Garage.
Step 1: Parking at the UCSF Parking Garage
Parking at the UCSF Garage:
There are two garage entrances — one on the north side of Parnassus Avenue and another on Irving Street, just east of Third Avenue. If you park in the Public Parking Garage, you will need to pull a ticket to enter the garage. Bring your ticket with you for validation by the study staff, so you will not be charged upon exiting. You will need to take the elevator from the parking garage to the top floor which will take you to Parnassus Avenue.
Please be sure to bring a face covering with you.
Step 2: Meet Study Staff
- After parking and taking the elevator up to Parnassus Ave, please contact study staff to inform them that you have arrived. You can contact us at (415) 514-0962 or by emailing [email protected]
- Please meet in front of the Millberry Union Plaza (cafeteria) sign.
- Due to COVID-19 protocols, staff will need to escort you to the School of Nursing building.
Entering the School of Nursing Building
(Staff will need to escort you. You will not be able to enter without staff.)
Entrance from Parnassus Ave:
From Parnassus Ave., enter through the Medical Sciences Building, on 513 Parnassus Ave. Follow the signs to “School of Nursing via Saunders Court”. You can take the staircase at the end of the hall or elevator on the left, go one floor up to exit out the glass doors to Saunders Court (outdoor courtyard). If you take the elevator, go straight out of the elevator area, the glass doors are behind the orange and blue pillars. Cross the courtyard and enter the School of Nursing. Pass “Ladle & Leaf” food area, and turn left at the hallway. Take the elevators at the end of the hallway to the 6th floor. Exit the elevators, and the entrance to the department of physiological nursing (N631) will be in front of you. If you get lost, or need assistance, call the Study Main Line (415) 514-0962.
Valet Parking Service
Valet parking service is available at the front of 400 Parnassus Ave. from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for the valet service and a validation sticker will be provided as mentioned above.
San Francisco Muni
Please refer to the directions on the enclosed map. The closest MUNI lines are the 6, 43, and the N Judah. After exiting follow the directions above for entering from Parnassus Ave.
BART to San Francisco and transfer to MUNI
Get off the BART train at the Civic Center, Montgomery Street, or Embarcadero stations and enter the MUNI area and look for the signs to board the N-Judah Muni heading towards Ocean Beach (Outbound). Get off at corner of Irving/Arguello Streets “UCSF Parnassus” Stop and enter the UCSF public parking garage to take the elevator up to Parnassus Avenue. After exiting the elevator, walk onto Parnassus Ave. You will need to cross the street and follow the directions to the study visit location explained above.
